In September 2025 the Small Basilica in Plovdiv hosted the International Discussion Forum “Changes and the Law”. It was organized by the Law Faculty at University of Plovdiv, in cooperation with the Balkan Association for Roman Law and Roman Legal Tradition Societas pro iure romano, the Bulgarian Group of the Association of Friends of French Legal Culture Henri Capitant, as well as the European Law Students’ Association – Plovdiv (ELSA).
The forum was attended by researchers from 9 states (affiliated with 2 Bulgarian and 8 foreign universities), by a judge and by the students from the Law Faculty. The forum had four working languages – English, French, Spanish and Italian. Each participant observed the reasons that led to some of the recent legislative changes in Bulgaria and abroad. In addition, the Dean of the Law Faculty at the University of Plovdiv Associate Professor Daniela Doncheva offered the Societas pro iure romano a greetings address for the 10th anniversary of the Balkan Association.
After the end of the forum the participants visited the cultural and historical landmarks of Plovdiv accompanied by the students.
